'You have learned a great deal since you began your journey as a tailor, (your name), and the pieces you make begin to reveal the great depth of your potential.
'You should travel to the Ranger Erandir at Esteldín in the North Downs and ask him for further instruction in the art. Esteldin is a hidden encampment of the Rangers -- stay alert and aware, and beware of the many dangers of the Downs.'
Background
With every piece you prepare, you learn something new about the process and about yourself.
Objectives
Objective 1 Talk to Erandir
The Ranger Erandir is at Esteldín in the North Downs.
Erandir has asked you to fashion deft gauntlets, which he will examine to determine whether you are sufficiently skilled at tailoring to proceed with the craft.
I have several toons, one of each profession. Why is the Tailor quest so ridiculously hard? My Metalworker, Weaponsmith, Woodworker & Jeweller I could solo at 20, my Cook at 14. Here, all the mobs are 25+ ELITE except for Trampletusk - who happens to wander through the ELITE mobs. The disparaity in quest requirements just doesn't make sense to me.
I have collected all the items he asked for but do not know how to craft the deft gauntlets. I dont have a recipe and he wants me to make them. What am I missing?
Okay, I am feeling dumb. A single use recipe for the gauntlets is in your pack. Just be sure to make them before you go back to Elendin. There is no craft table there.
Confirmed! Trampletusk is still in game (Nov 2007) I found him at 12.0, 45.2 wandering around a large group of other hoarmantles. Look for the spire on the hill and travel south. He's Level 20 sig mob with 1,065 hit points.
Trampletusk is still around. About 1100 HP and lvl 20. I found him near the loc mentioned, which is between the K and I in the word Kingsfell on the map.
In case this thread is confusing to folks, Trampletusk is a SIGNATURE L20, not an Elite so he is solo-able and doable at lower levels, provided you are careful not to agro any of the many elites in the area. He tends to wander so wait until he's in the clear then attack. I just got him with my L20 LM + Bear.
