Since Desert of Flames, most collections are limited to a specific geographical area and so are easier to find, but will contain one item that is much rarer than the others. This rare item will usually also belong to an expansion-wide rares collection with a special reward. The older collections (such as bone fragments and magic shards) are scattered over multiple zones and are sometimes harder to complete.
For page or tome collection quests, see: Category:EQ2 Tome Collections.

Feed your pet burynai a fertilizer, bone, and water to get a random collection item!
These are collections that never had a zone to harvest or loot them in, yet were briefly available from the Burynai House Pet that was a ROK Preorder reward. They have been removed from the game, and any items for them you may see are not collectible.
Some of these quests returned to the game with GU51, and are listed appropriately above.
