Balin's Pride

'I was looking for a hardy adventurer like yourself to search for an important piece of dwarf-history. Do you know the story of Balin son of Fundin, Lord of Moria? He was among Thorin Oakenshield's Company who conquered Smaug the Golden. He later fought in the Battle of the Five Armies and even travelled all the way to the far Shire to visit with his friend Bilbo Baggins.

'Nearly thirty years ago now, Balin led his brave expedition to reclaim the Mines; his colony was overrun five years after that, shortly after he was slain by an Orc archer in the Dimrill Dale. As his tomb is in the old Chamber of Mazarbul, his seat of power must have been nearby! I wish to find the remnants of his first camp. I believe it to be near the Chamber of Mazarbul, however, beyond the side that is blocked off. Head east, past Khurjezer, then turn north, find The Deep Crossroad and continue west. The camp should come into view soon enough. There may even be relics of his stay, items that belonged to the brave dwarves in his party -- be sure you thoroughly search the area!'

Sharp-eyed Balin son of Fundin came to Moria years ago and likely camped near the Twenty-first Hall.

Objective 1

Balin's Camp can be found west of The Deep Crossroad, north of Khurjezer, which is east of the Twenty-first Hall.

Káti asked you to find the remnants of Balin's first camp. He suspects there may be relics of the expedition there and recommended that you examine the camp's remnants thoroughly.
