I'm having the same problem. I've done the quest at least 10 times and I can't get him home. Any hints if you're soloing this? Thanks!
Did this horrid quest four times. Each time the third scout is past the mobs we kill and almost home when he stops and will not move on. Was hugely frustrating. Logging till I can find more info on this.
