It looks like Mythos has officially been reborn. Redbana announced today that it will be publishing the game in North America and unveiled the new Mythos teaser site, which contains a trailer that looks at the evolution of the online action RPG. You can also register for the upcoming closed beta and read the first developer's blog entry, which can be found after the jump.

Flagship Studios closed the Mythos beta in 2008 and the team reformed as Runic Games to develop Torchlight, which launched in October. HanbitSoft ultimately acquired the Mythos intellectual property and parent company T3 Entertainment resumed development, with the game now in closed beta in South Korea.

Following the news that Blizzard won't be releasing Diablo III until at least 2011, it looks like players will be occupied with Torchlight and Mythos for the foreseeable future.

MYTHOS Developers Note #001

Hello Mythos Community!

This is "Alboos" from the Mythos development team. I'm very excited to meet you finally. From now on, I will be introducing you the most current status of the Mythos development progress, and the details of how the MYTHOS world will turn out. First of all, allow me to briefly introduce myself. I am a designer on the Mythos development team.

I know that many gamers have been waiting for Mythos for a very long time. The reason we did not give out any MYTHOS news until now is because we have been waiting for the right time to provide the most accurate information.

Currently, Mythos is being reconstructed with a whole new look. We are trying to maintain the strengths that the game already had and improve them while eliminating its weaknesses so that Mythos can become more suitable as an online game. Also various different content will be added to make Mythos a more exciting and engaging multiplayer game. In other words, our current development direction is focused on how we can improve Mythos so that you can enjoy with many other users, colleagues, and friends together.

That is it for today. I just wanted to let you know that Mythos is being improved on and is currently in great condition.

In my next letter, I will give you a brief explanation about the new Mythos world.
