How to Win
We have a thread in the General WoW forums for the contest entries. All you have to do is post a response in the thread that states what you’re the most excited about in the new World of Warcraft: Cataclysm expansion. For example:

  • Playing as a Worgen.
  • All the new changes to old Azeroth. I can’t wait to see what it looks like!
  • The new talent changes. My class is going to be OP. QQ moar newbs.

We’ll be collecting entries for the next seven days, and on Monday August 2nd, 2010, we’ll be announcing all fifty winners of the giveaway and we’ll then send you your beta key for Cataclysm! It really is that simple. Just submit the part of Cataclysm you’re most excited about, and you're golden!

 

Please Note: You must enter your contest submission at the designated forum thread. Any comments on this article will not be counted as submissions.

 

Additional Note: Both Tankspot and Wowhead will be having their own beta key giveaways in the next few weeks, so make sure you check out our entire network family for all of your chances to win!

++ If you're an AddOn author WoWInterface has almost an unlimited number of keys to give away.

Rules and Qualifications

  • In order to use the beta key, you must have a WoW account in good standing.
  • Posts in the contest thread that are not contest submissions will be deleted.
  • Users may enter more than one Cataclysm item that they’re excited about, but only one entry will be counted per user.
  • We reserve the right to remove entries if we feel like you're not properly participating in the contest.
  • The contest begins on July 26th, and all winners will be announced on August 2nd, 2010.
  • The fifty (50) key winners will be drawn from the pool of eligible posters at the end of the entry period.

I'm looking forward to a lot of stuff. Revamped zones will be nice for a change. Many zones are kinda messy today, so i hope that will get fixed.

Condensed talent trees, and not having to visit a trainer to get a new rank of an ability. Neat.

Bear druids getting another button to press -- win.

Lots of small stuff.


But i really look forward to a gear reset, getting to re-explore the classes, and to avoid doing 25 mans while still getting the same ilvl loot.

I'd love the chance to be in the beta because I've never been in wow beta since vanilla. I want the chance to send good feedback to blizzard about feral druids, holy priests, mages,. I'm dieing for the chance to test the goblin starter zone out, and fly around the world, from Orgrimmar to the bay. The guild talent system makes me cream myself mass res who wouldn't be exited about that!

1) I really wan t to relore a new goblin and a worgen and how much the has changed and I can't wait any longer for Tauren paladin 2) the classes will be Goblin Mage because this cool Mage ar getting I'n Cata/ my class on the worgen shal. Be Druid.
And at last I can't wait to see the zones and how hard the old zones change

What am I looking forward to the most is not so easy. In fact i am looking forward to 3 things the most.

1. The return of fury warriors using one hand weapons. I leveled my first toon, in wow over 5 years ago and i miss using things like first weapons and one handed weapons.

2. I am loving the idea of playing a worgen as fury warrior. It sound so damn cool and awesome, fast and dangerous

3. Last but not least the new talents for the deathknights. Blood tanking will be the best and frost dps will be unstoppable.

to start off. I have an 80 of every class, a few doubles of some classes at 80. I play on a handful of different servers. all my 80's have epic flying/dual specs, 95% of them bought when there was no discount.

What I am most looking forward to with cata, I am itching to use the new talent trees and relearn some class mechanics.

quick edit: smaller things I am looking forward to. flying in the old world. the new zone structures. the new leveling system. and of course, worgen/goblin staring zones.

I can't wait for the change up of the original areas. Not to mention the ability to fly anywhere I want. It will be such a breath of fresh air to have a new place to grind up all my alts, not to mention the expanded selection of race/class combinations!

I'm most excited about the changing zones. I haven't quested through all of them as horde, and I haven't done much questing past 20 as alliance (I started about 6 months before Wrath came out, and a Blood elves were my favorites for looks, besides night elves). However, I do rather like the themes shown so far. Also another thing I'm looking forward to are the new Instances and Raids! I hope they have new and innovative ways to force people to think, as it seems now, at least in pugs, that people have a hard time not standing in fire (I can only imagine they have their graphics turned down so low they can't see it. I tried that and it does indeed make it VERY difficult to see fire, so I turned that one back up ^_^).

First I thought why would i want a beta key? When you can play wow in a few months , but when i saw the warrior talents i suddenly popped my berserker rage and started rampaging :p . Maybe I'm wrong but I wouldn't know untill I tested it . I would love to see the worgen in action because ever since I was lvl 20 I wanted to know what was behind the greymane wall.(at lvl 80 I saw that the only thing behind the wall was a small area with messed up texture). But now I've been told the gilneans have been cursed with the worgen curse and i would love to see the lore behind it all. I am less excited about the goblins but still I wouldnt mind giving them a try.
However i am excited about the the graphics ,the new phasing improvements and the drastic changes to the environment. if I could see what the changes are I would be able to take a last look at our current WoW . Because nothing is gonna be the same afterwards. I hope I'll be able to see some problems in the beta , so that I contributed something to my fellow players. WoW is easy enough as it is I don't want it to become dull and boring :).

Well, I for one am excited for 5 additional levels and the new path of the titans being introduced. I am also excited for the devastation being brought upon Azeroth which is in itself AWESOME! I would like to say also that I am excited for the new Worgen race as I will most definitely be playing one. I am also excited for the Worgen's mount, or at least the concept art I've seen of their mount. THEY LOOK WICKED! I'm also excited for all the new raids I'm going to be able to tank in, woot! <3 tanking! I'm pretty much excited for everything about this game expansion. :D

Hunters becoming ranged rogues with a pet... yeah that is my favorite part of Cataclysm. No more running out of mana and than losing dps versus classes that use rage,energy, runic power,etc.. I know we maintain the same spells and such, but the new reworking of BM is good 2.

I am excited for Cataclysm because of the mass changes to Azeroth. The lore is going to be sweet, and I also want Garrosh to get what he deserves. I've always wanted to play worgen since I saw them on my first character in Darkshire. Goblins look pretty sweet too. I had always wondered when they would make these races playable.

Although all of the additions made in Cataclysm look fantastic, the changes to the talent trees and my favorite class, the paladin, are definitely my favorites. The redone talents look great, with Blizzard "trimming" the boring talents to make way for the new and interesting talents. In addition, the Cataclysm paladin class seems extremely interesting, mostly because of the new "Holy Power." I have played only one character since the first days of World of Warcraft, and that is my extremely beloved paladin. All of that time, I have never felt fully challenged, even though I am deeply in love with my paladin. This new "Holy Power" brings some interesting new abilities to the table, along with making the class more challenging. In general, the new talents and redesigned paladin class make me the most excited, because it seems to me like I will be having a load of fun with it.

There are many things in the upcoming xpac that im excited about but the thing i wanna check out most, is how my balance druid is gonna do now that i wont be stacking sp anymore. plus im glad to see the focus of the game will be on the orig area...Azeroth :-)

There are thousands to talk about cataclysm. I love how there remaking the new starting zones!@!@ Also how trolls get there own place!!!! I love how theres new talents specs its gonna be awesome! Also the new places where we us 80's can go and level now!!! Also im excited about new armour i think it is supposed to be better then raid one tiers from being level 80! Also worgen, Worgen is gonna be awesome and how gilneas or however you spell it its going to be Awesome!!!@! Goblins is also to be exicted about i heard they have an island starting place which is going to be sweet! Oh another thing to be exicted about is the enviroment. The enviroement is gonna be all blistered and scarred from volcanoes and other stuff. I wanted a beta key really bad but if i dont get it i dont care im still getting the game! this is going to be awesome! Blizzard your gonna make so much cool stuff!!#@!@

The thing i am looking forward to most is the gameplay of the new races. I want to see the new leveling areas for the goblins do all of their quests and see what the worgens gameplay will be like . Also i have been wanting to see the echo ilses for the trolls new area for lving since they took it back in patch 3.3.5. Another reason is i have been playing since back in vanilla since they are changing the areas that they made all the way back then. I'm also interested in seeing how lving in mt. hyjal and the abyssal depths will be like. My main is a hunter and i've been very excited that they will no longer be needing mana but focus making it better i think for them in raids and pvp. Since they no longer need to worry about maintaining mana although they will have to think about how to distribute their abilities just like rogues. I've also been wanting to make a shaman because they now can have dual weild at lv 10 when they go enhancement spec. Also I'm excited that they give shaman a melee attack at a low lv so they can use more then just 3 spells. I also have a tankadin and i'm interested in what i've seen if the talents will effect them. If they will be squishier or if they stay as awesome as they are now.

1.) The new deathknight talents and moves!! soo exiting!
2.) the new glyph system can wait for that.
3.) paladin new holy power, that amazing amout of mana the spells cost
healing is going to be fun again!! :)
4.) the new water lol it looks amazing just in the videos ive seen.
5.) just the new feel it is going to bring to the game, not the feeling of playing world of warcraft the feeling the you are walking through a forest to kill some thing for some guy and you stop and just stand there in amazment...

Of course, I'm looking forward to rated battlegrounds the most. I'm going to dominate everyone on my rogue, yes I am. As far as the other content, I'm super excited about being about to use my flying mount everywhere to own noobs all day every day. Don't pick me though, I don't deserve to win because all I do is own noobs all day everyday.
