RL - See the Hobbit on Sunday. I want to see it, but I was somewhat disappointed by the first one, so I'm hoping this one is better. The cinematography will be good, I'm sure, I just hope Peter Jackson laid off the CGI this time around. Hockey game late on Saturday night. I'm hoping I'm awake. The game is later than my normal bedtime the last couple weeks. I'm going to have to work a power nap into my Saturday somehow, or else I'll be zonked by the time of puck drop.
WoW - I think I'm going to go for pets this weekend. I'm at about 65 out of 75 level 25s. So, that shouldn't be too hard to finish off. I'm at about 35 of 75 level 10 pets. That may be a bit trickier. I broke down today and bought some pets off the store. I was planning on buying the charity pet regardless, but the other pets were on sale for 1/2 off, so I said ***** it and pulled the trigger. After a couple weeks of minimal game time, I'm not in a huge hurry to go nutso on the leveling. So, I'm going to take it easy on that end and just let happen what happens.
RL - Power nap: check. Hockey game: win 4-3. It was a close one. We were up 2-1 then down 3-2, then managed to get the winning goal with about 2 minutes left in the game. All around fun game without any chippy BS. I got one goal, too. Yay!
Saw the Hobbit. I enjoyed it a lot. I thought it was a lot better than the first one. The CGI was toned down, so I didn't find myself distracted by it as happened several times in the first movie. Good action, good pace, good scenery. The Lord of the Rings tie-ins were better integrated in this movie, too, in my opinion. I still don't really think they need to be in there, but at least this time it worked okay. Overall, I give it a hearty thumbs up.
WoW - I managed to get the 75 25s pet achievement, but only 48 of the 75 10s achievement. I also realized it was probably a mistake to make the pet things my goal for the weekend. I thought doing pets would be relaxing and chill but, it made me realize why I got burned out on them before, which led to a several month absence. It just gets too grindy. I like the hunting them down part, but the grinding for rares, leveling, and fighting trainers over and over hoping for stones and hoping to dodge the RNG just gets frustrating and boring. So...
I spent more time on leveling toons. I enjoy that more anyway and I should have made that my weekend goal. I casually (herbing, crafting, a few pet battles) leveled my druid from 70 to 72 and my pally from 70 to 71. Oh, and I spent some time on Timeless Isle on my DK and managed to pick up some upgrades. Still not sure I'll ever raid on the DK, but farming on Timeless Isle with a group can be pretty fun.
Hope everyone had a great weekend.
