I kind of miss the old weekly accomplishments thread, so I figured why not have an epic thread of our victories and valor THAT NEVER ENDS??? Also, with our community being so small, I don't see the need to make new threads ever week. Who has time for that, anyway.

And... GO!

I recently got Astrologian to Level 60. I still need to learn the cards, but aside from that, I'm thoroughly enjoying the job. I've never had to heal before in an MMO...I've always been ranged DPS or support (or both at the same time). For example, my main is Bard. I've found healing to be a feel-good task (pun only partially not intended) and look forward to healing in the future. With that done, I'm working on getting Monk to 60 next (level 54 currently); after that, I'm not sure yet. I'm also getting more fish unlocked (I'm at Lvl 60 on Fisher already).

Basically, I'm mainly leveling and saving up for more Lore gear and for a personal house. I'm still having lots of fun, of course. :)

Hm. What have I been doing recently?

58 NIN now. I'll probably hit 60 with a few more days worth of dailies and hunts. I'll never actually use NIN for anything, but I'll have it there. Not sure what I'll level next. Debating between PLD (52), DRK (51), and AST (37). I'm not really sold on AST yet but at least the card thing gives it a little variety (especially compared to the snooze fest on WHM.)

I'm loving the Gold Saucer event. I've been saving up for the Fenrir mount for a few weeks now and the MPG bonus is a godsend for that. The 50% MGP bonus even applies to the challenge log rewards. I made almost 100k MGP just from the challenge log yesterday. I'm sitting at around 830k atm so I doubt I'll hit a million this week -not unless I get REALLY lucky with Typhon and the cactpot- but I'll probably get it next week at this rate.

I'm not really much of a crafter but I have CRP and CUL at 50 from before so I'm set for moogle dailies next week (probably.) I think maybe I'll go back and Ixal some more. I'd like to be able to make my own glamour crystals if nothing else.

I'm glad that there's a new patch coming. It'll give me something to do even if only in the short term. I'm almost done with my current made up goals (I'm close to the Fenrir mount and my chocobo is rank 18) and I'm at a bit of a loss as to what I should do next.

Nothing coming out in 3.3 is anything I was really looking forward to, alas D: need to wait until 3.35 for that

Mainly I'm just wondering if the moogle quests will have anything to offer to someone with all 60s. My guess is if there is, probably not until the highest ranks, if it's anything like the other quests...

The Aquapolis looked interesting until I found out it's basically just going to be like trying to do the treasure chest game in Ocarina of Time without the magic lens, except with 7 coin flips instead of 5, and a far more limited/expensive cost of entry. Once I learned that was how it works, my interest plummeted something fierce.

Last night I earned a new title, "Grandmaster of the Hand".

They showed off the flying animation of Fenrir in the first half of the recent live letter. Or second half, I just caught the "highlights' from a japanese streamer I follow.

I have the same feelings right now about Thordan Ex. There's absolutely no way I'd be able to master this fight at an efficient rate without having a static. Even with echo and iLevel increases, the mechanics simply aren't forgiving.

I expected a comment like this from you, and I think Ifrit HM is actually one of the few encounters in the game I have never seen a wipe to, even on a lowly NA data center.

Sure we saw wipes to Ifrit back in the 2.0-2.1 days when the average HM primal group was only i60-70ish. That was a long time ago though. I do trial roulette almost every day, and with one exception* it's been at least a year since I've wiped to a 2.x primal


*I wiped to Titan HM in roulette last week. Five people died in the first couple of minutes and we failed to kill the heart. It was kind of amazing actually.

You have to remember, Hio comes from the magical Japanese data center that still has a pretty terrible clear rate overall. I think FCoB ended with a 15% completion rate (on Chocobo), which is pretty sad, then Alex Savage (Turn 4, also on Chocobo) 5%, and if I recall, the newest Alex was even more pitiful. So realistically, on a WHOLE data center, your fail rate on a Japanese cluster is going to be just about on par with us lowly North American morons.

Like I've said before, I'm almost 100% positive I could transfer over to the Japanese center and still experience the same painful trek through end game. Instead of failing 50/50 times, I might get it down to 49/50.

Personally I have not played in a long time, but I am actually pretty excited to see how Palace of the Dead turns out. It definitely has the potential to be a really cool event imo and I can't wait to give it a shot with my friends. Had this been XI I would have probably tried to do some cool things solo as well, but I think I will stick to doing it at least as a duo here. Would probably also like to go through some more of the story, but it depends on if I feel like leveling too.

Oh really? Have they said anything about how it will play differently by the way? I feel like I might have missed the latest on PotD because I have not kept up since NicoNico I think.
