Downloading it now. I read on the OF forums that once the initial install is over, then you need to stop/restart your launcher to trigger the second part of the download... though I could be misunderstanding things. Will find out soon enough, I guess.

EDIT: Nvm, it was just the one download.

Oh man this is going to mess with people... so no it's not. You need to restart the launcher after that 4 gig download, select to install Heavensward, accept the license again and then it starts a 10 GB download after that.

Huh? I'm not getting an option to do this. After restarting the launcher I'm just seeing the greyed out Play button.

Hit Config and turn on "Expansion Auto-installation"

DX11 is also enabled from this menu now.

I see. That's only for people that bought the expansion thru the SE store though. It's not just a blanket download.

Yeah mine went pretty quickly too and mine was done just as I logged in. (Big *** button popped up saying HW DL.)

Now to listen to the HW OST while waiting for tomorrow.

Man, gotta credit SE for consistently finding ways to confuse people.

I had a moment of panic when I thought I had registered my early access, but had not. After spending 10 minutes frustrated with Mog Station, I got it figured out and registered.

Bad luck for a friend - he picked up a physical copy of the game for $10 from Amazon, then realized his sexythin laptop lacked any kind of optical drive to read the disk. I sent him a link to the standard game client download so he's ready to go now.... on maintenance day, of course.

What if your auto install expansion was already turned on?(When I went into config it said it was on already.)

I went through steam btw. On steam it says my pre-order and stand edition installed but not the plip that just says heavensward.

Edit2: Herping my Derping. Have to register my codes on mog station first duhhhh.

Then it auto downloads with the "2.x fixes" patch and you'll get a big *** button that says: "Not Installed, Heavensward. 10gb" or whatever after you log in on the client.

It's about 10gb uncompressed. Also they only downloaded stuff relevant to 3.0 and the ...let's say intellect deficient people posting datamining on official forums aside....there's a lot of stuff missing or incomplete, so they're doin what they did in XI - Download base dats so the sizes are smaller and next patch will be overall smaller but finishes some of the incomplete data.

Come 2 weeks then 2 weeks after that it'll for sure be 10gb.

Yeah the long maintenance seems to be a great equalizer for once.

My how far we've come. I'm downloading an entire expansion in under and hour. Used to take that long for me to download one FFXI patch.

Yeah, now that realistically no need to cap bandwidth it's amazing how far distribution came.

Should have bought it from GMG, I had my preorder code about ten seconds after I hit the order button.

SE finally sent my ps3 access code. PSN recognized it, Mog Station shows everything, including the bonus items I'm to get.

I'm so totally exhausted from running around doing chores, and playing catchup to my life. Good thing it was a cloudy day.

Cheers!

Oh it's the last time I pre-order a game from Bestbuy that's for sure.

I stopped shopping there long ago. Some monkey there told me that an 8600GT was a "state of the art graphics card". . . in 2011. Suffice to say, I politely disagreed and declined his offering.

I prefer ordered from Gamestop for a hard copy and I haven't gotten any codes. I am going to go by the store tomorrow and hopefully I can get my disk.
