Weekly Goals and Accomplishments 6/12 - 6/19Follow

#1 Jun 12 2015 at 5:59 AM Rating: Excellent
One week until early access! Let's finish out our goals!

- Get as close to Zeta as possible on WAR. Probably won't finish, but if I finish lights today, I've got a shot at getting to the final stage within the next week. Currecntly at Vigorous.
- Knock out as many other random achievements/titles as possible. Some are really silly, like purchasing all the chocobo bardings from free companies, but yeah.

It feels weird to not have to run a daily roulette on a lowbie job. I'm thinking of changing my title to The Insatiable, but I'm not sure. I've been an Elite Cascadier since the beginning of the game!

1. Continue to cap poetics. Once I cap for this week I'll be at 2000. Then I have to decide whether I want to buy a right side piece on Tuesday. That's a tough spot to be in, knowing I will only have 2 days to make up for 400 poetics. Really don't feel like grinding out Tuesday and Wednesday (especially because Tuesday the kid has a baseball game), so I think I'll chill and take it easy.

2. I might loosely farm coil. T12 is fun, yesterday I cleared on bard about 4 times and got a twine (that's it). Cleared T11 twice, got nothing, spent hours in two separate t13 groups only to fail. Spend 3 hours grinding in a "farm" group for a total of 0 poetics. The problem is that there is a really good group of players that would clear the content 100%,except they bring this one particular healer in all the time for some reason, and this healer is terribad. Currently, if you are in a t13 farm on Lamia, 95% shot that you get this healer. Our endgame population at the moment is suffering. On Lamia, you are either selling t13 or failing t13. Some people (I'll name names if you ask) join the group only to sabotage it, so they can advertise selling t13 clears. All that will change in a week, I know, but for right now it is dreadfully painful.

Ever seen a healer get lucky on a whm dreadwyrm coat while being carried by another tremendous healer on the first clear and then suddenly became "the greatest scholar known to man"? Instead, its more like "still heals t13 inadequately with a 115 shiva book". Now on paladin, I rarely notice bad healing because for the most part I can mitigate it with defensive CDs, but as a bard who only has second wind, I can definitely tell when I'm not being topped off fast enough after unavoidable hits. Has the nerve to say that I wasn't moving fast enough. Pffft. I've watched you heal other content, and watched others heal this content. The problem is that you need to push your heal buttons faster... (but I didn't say that irl, just brushed it off...). K sorry, I'm done. This person wasted about 3 hours of my time yesterday and no one in the group seemed to realize the real reason we were dying. Frustrating. Can't wait to just kick back and level machinist.

I dont know how much I will play but I have a lucis to do for Blacksmith, I gathered everything for it and have the moon stones.
Tesee has another Lucis she needs done in culinary. She is also working on her miner Lucis and is close there.

Between the two of us we will have every gathering and crafting Lucis with a few over lapping.

Verdha will be working on Lights mostly, but keep plugging away on chocobo challenge log as a priority -- Rank 20 is not too far away now. Also needs to put some time in raising the remaining crafting jobs.

Waenlona is looking to upgrade to full Weathered Daystar, then use soldiery for relic books while collecting Sands, Oils, and poetics. Still a good chunk of storyline to advance, and the next set of crafting job levels to pull up.

Just got MIN to 50. So that's both major gathering classes ready to go.

WAR is 47 as of today. Should have no problem getting 50 and relic'd by the end of the week. That'll be my Insatiable title.

I'm three pieces of gear away from BiS on NIN. They involve farming T10 and T11, so I'm going to shoot for getting those and going in to HW as geared as I can be on my main job. For anyone that cares, the pieces I need are the NIN gloves and earrings from T10, and the NIN head from T11.

Clearing T13 would be really nice but it's not a super realistic goal at this point. I'm not that sad. I got started raiding in FFXIV really late and I'm frankly stunned I got as far as I did. It's actually pretty rare for me to clear all the raid content in an expansion before the next expansion in any game I'm playing. So this isn't really that unusual. I fully intend to stab Alexander in the face though.

1. At 1990 poetics, 2000 soldiery. Going to run things at my leisure on Tuesday/Wednesday, get my last 10 poetics, log in Tuesday to collect my triple triad tournament winnings, and gather my popcorn on Thursday for what I am sure will be the longest read of Patch Notes in recent history.

2. Cleared T13 two more times this weekend (for a total of 3). As usual, my roll on the cool dreadwyrm stuff falls short (10-20 every single time), but my oh my how every single carbontwine/coat/encrypted tomestone roll is a mighty 99. Side note: got in a great Ramuh farm party, 4 wins, 3 pony drops. Rolled 10, 23, 34. Smiley: oyvey. My bad luck is my worst enemy.

Ok so WAR 50, relic'd. Insatiable title done.

Got a little gear out of T10 and 11 but not what I was actually looking for. Got a few pulls in on T13 but we were dealing with a DF tank and a DF DRG that couldn't tell left from right.... so that didn't go so well.

Hoping to hard cap my soldiery and poetics before Thursday and then spend Thursday ... I don't know ... Splatoon? I got nothing.

I may not end up playing this week before HW. Was out of town last weekend, and I have plans this Saturday and part of Sunday... won't even really be able to play much on opening weekend. However, I am taking this Friday off of work, partly for HW and party so I can go on a long morning run without interruption.

Anyway... I'm very excited! My goal this week is to stay focused on work despite all the HW hoopla. I'm failing, as you can see. Smiley: smile

I didn't think I'd manage it, but Halcyon Rod Lucis get. I had to spam craft some militia gear to turn in for the seals to get the crystals and moon stones I was missing. Once that was done, I hit every clam window I could for the last four days (stupid real life job and responsibilities...). The last three clams took the last two days, and I got 24 NQs in the process. Now I've got all three Lucis gathering tools.

* Capped my sol, poetics, and GC seals
* Did the CT weekly for an Encrypted Tomestone, to set aside for the AST weapon
* Crafted full sets of HQ Level 30 gear for all three of the new jobs

That's about it, I've pretty much been in "maintenance mode" for the past while

I felt I logged off in a good spot. I've got all the quests active for relic dungeons, so as I'm leveling astrologian I can do double duty and knock out some of those. I knocked out my CT weekly yesterday because those dungeons are going to be a ghost town over the weekend. Surprisingly, our WoD was not a painful pile of steaming crap, perhaps because anyone who was in there with me also had at least an ounce of foresight regarding getting it down NOW rather than after HW comes out.

Since today is a no-game day due to maintenance, husband and I are going to a resort in the mountains. I can think of worse ways to spend a maintenance day than lounging by the pool drinking rum buckets.
