Just wondered how you guys were doing on your TT card hunts?

What was your hardest card to get, do you know anyone with 80/80?

Tips/techniques?

I know there is a good website out there already...

Personally I have quite a few but still no Onion Knight drop...taking me so long to see the drop :(

I'm not making it a focus of my time, but I've approached 30 cards just randomly gathering them and occasionally getting a card pack. Once I hit 30 cards and can build a better deck, I'll trying my hand against more NPCs. For now it is too frustrating, since numbers are not my brain's happy place. (Why couldn't they have added XIV Scrabble or something? Heheh.)

Well, I have 72 cards at the moment. I'm inching up on Vaan now. Of the people I know, I have the most cards, but most of my friends aren't very interested in Triple Triad.

At this point, I'm just saving for Cloud since I don't need to purchase any more packs (and I can try to get Nanamo from platinum packs).

I wish I had some tips to give. I just play it for a few hours at a time once or twice a week. Random/Chaos rules are difficult, so I grind on those NPCs for MGP lately since I want Cloud. For me, it's just about practicing and experimenting with decks to see what I am comfortable using.

I have 46.. about..

I stopped playing it since I hit 33 or so. Bit tedious when there is a good dosage of luck involved.

All the cards I've been earning lately are from dungeons, primals, spending MGP or tournament rewards. I wish there was tips I could use but @hugetiny has it spot on.

67/80. I stopped really trying to grind them out once I hit 60.

Gotten nothing but Lahabreas, Shivas, and Ultima Weapons from the platinum cards so far. It's depressing how many Lahabreas I've picked up from these after how many points I've spent on silver cards trying to get one...

I'm still working towards Vaan card 136/300 so far and I still haven't got my Onion Knight drop from WOD yet. Shant and Frion are platinum so I might get lucky, im currently on 75/80 so quite close.

Got Vaan the other day and Nanamo in my last platinum pack from the last tournament so I'm at 67 right now. Got Gaius and Bahamut but no Lightning from Tataru just yet Smiley: frown. Also no King Mog or both of the ultra rare gold cards or any of the tournament win cards (I always finish like 25th).

I would consider myself probably in the top 10% of all who play regularly, but definitely not in the top 1%. I'm dedicated but generally average.

As far as I am aware you do not need to be placed on the board to get the cards. I have never managed a top twenty place because I simply play the NPC next to the tournament NPC - gets me 87-95 per win - and get usually plus 3,000 but not by much. My MGP rewards have been from 16k-23k and I have always received 3xPlatinum cards. I did not get anything useful this week but the previous two weeks I got Cecil and Tidus. I am assuming that you need a certain score to get a certain number of Platinum but as I've never got less than 3k I'm not sure what the threshold is.

Ah, think I said that wrong. I meant I had never obtained the cards you get for placing top 3. Last 3 tournaments I received platinum packs (3, 3, and 2 packs respectively). I'm usually between 3 and 4k and play the npc next to the board. Plus always screws me over, because I'm an idiot and rush through it. I like random much better.

And probably 90% of my packs have netted me the Ultima Card, and the rest were Lahabrea, but I did get nanamo on my last go, which is 400k MGP I won't have to spend.

Yeah me neither!.....I'm not sure how some people get 45/45 wins and 5k+ points to place in top three, they are either brilliant players, getting people to help them or something I don't know about. I have been on the board before though. My friend Wiz usually hangs around and tries to play lots of different people and he's a good player but he's never managed to stay on the board by the end of any tournament so far. As far as getting the cards from placing top three, you can definitely get them just from platinum decks so as long as its not a personal goal to place top three and you are prepared for a little RNGesus I think its quicker to just get your three Platinum cards each tournament and take your chances. 2/3 weeks so far as I stated before I got the same card as you get if you place in the top three. :)

I still need three more cards to break the thirty barrier and finally be able to use a half decent deck. Because of that, I rarely play it. It's bad enough that you have to beat some NPCs dozens if not hundreds of times to get their cards from them, but it's pretty damn frustrating when you can't even use your best cards to do it.

I log in on Tuesday morning, board is empty but tournament is active, see two members of the same FC blatantly standing across from one another next to the message board playing cards, then look up on the board and see one has 25/25 wins and the other has 0/25 wins, it becomes pretty obvious what is going on.

I don't even bother attempting to get top 3 anymore since I saw people blatantly cheat. People in another FC have used alts with the basic 5 starter cards to give a friend their wins, and then they swap, so both rank highly. It's silly!
