Your video card is quite old. While the 9800 was a beast, current cards wreck it.

What would you suggest i look to get?

It depends what your system and budget can handle. Depending on how strong your power supply is, you may have to replace that too when you upgrade your graphics card.

You'll have to do some research to figure that out, power supply calculators aren't that difficult to find (though some are more detailed than they need to be), just remember that whatever your power supply says it provides, count on about 80% of that and adjust your math accordingly.

As for graphics cards, I love my GTX 670, but that's a pricey card. A 660 or 660Ti would probably be perfectly acceptable.

And before someone says it, yeah I prefer nVidia cards. No there's no particularly good reason for that.

As someone that prefers Radeon cards for no particularly good reason, if the 660ti is a little too pricey you can get a 7870 for $50-$70 less. Doesn't perform quite as well as the 660ti but it's close. That being said, the 660ti is a great card, if you have the means pick one up.

Only thing I am concerned about is the power supply. Will that be good enough? I honestly have no idea. :) if it means i won't have to upgrade my computer for multiple years again to spend a little extra, I am OK with it.

I would say bump up the PSU to a 650 or higher. The 500 should be adequate for your components (just glanced through them quickly though) but a beefier PSU will give you more wiggle room if you plan on upgrading in the future. Also, if you go this route get an 80+ PSU from a good manufacturer. Believe it or not, the power supply is the most important part of your rig, so get a good one Smiley: grin

I found a good article that says the Corsair AX series is a really good brand. That should definitely help in my decision making. Thanks!

If anyone else has any opinions on this computer that was built, please, feel free!

Seasonic makes the Corsair AX series IIRC. Seasonic makes a great PSU so that would be a good choice. Definitely do some research and put your rig together, you won't be sorry Smiley: smile

Yeah, I definitely feel like the last rig I built from a few years back, I didn't put enough research into it. It has helds it own the whole time I've had it, but I am sure that if I would have spent a little more time on it, I wouldn't have had to upgrade it as soon as I am right now.

http://www.ibuypower.com/Store/Gamer_Paladin_D897/c/4321080 This is what I have set up right now. If anyone has anything else to add, feel free!

If anyone is feeling generous enough, could I ask someone to build me a decent computer, in the $1000-1500 range? can either post it in here or just PM me a link to what you have for ideas. Thats one area I am not very fluent on is building computers and matching stuff together. Don't need any monitors.

Why not get a PS3 or a PS4 if you already have PS3?

Only 1 because he's running at 720p. If you're hitting 20k at 720p, depending on what your bottleneck is, you'll be sitting at 13-16k at 1080p quite comfortably. I'm very excited to see how our scores change with the dx11 patch. As long as my PC stays over 8k with the dx11 at Max, I'm pleased. Smiley: smile

While I could bump up to 1080p without too much of a problem I think this goes back to the debate of 1080p vs 720p on smaller screens. Is there a huge difference at cost of a performance hit? I guess its personal preference. Either way I know that whatever I run this game at I wont have an issue unlike when the original was released.

I'm sure my bottleneck at the moment is going to be my cpu speed at 3.4 ghz but I have done stress tests at 4.4 ghz with no problems.

Something kind of funny: as I posted before, I got 4100 on surround. Well I have a 4th accessory monitor. So I figured if I disable that then my score will go up.
So I disable the 4th screen and run the benchmark again.... 4050

Yeah, Seasonic is pretty much the top PSU brand out there. Apart from Corsair, they also make the high end XFX ones.

Seasonic, Corsair, and XFX are the only 3 brands that I'd personally use.

I've had my Corsair HX750 for almost 3 years now, and it's been rock solid. It has a few more years left in it, but not sure if I'll have to change it next year if I do indeed upgrade my GPU to SLI 860s like I'm thinking to do. Gotta see how much of a power hog they are.

Yeah I love my Seasonic M12II 620w. It was really between that the Corsair TX650, but the Seasonic is modular and was on sale.

So my computer isn't really much to brag about. I was buying a house at the time my old one passed, so I just bought a prebuilt at Best Buy (I know prebuilt *Shutter*) But with a lower resolution and running the settings on low I think I can still play pretty comfortably.

So my computer isn't really much to brag about. I was buying a house at the time my old one passed, so I just bought a prebuilt at Best Buy (I know prebuilt *Shutter*) But with a lower resolution and running the settings on low I think I can still play pretty comfortably.

If you're looking to bump your performance you could get a big jump by just replacing that video card. You can get a 7770 for a $100 and it would boost your performance considerably.

You average 90 FPS and are rated to be able to max everything comfortably. Why are you looking to upgrade other than increasing e-peen benchmark numbers?
