'I don't know what these mervyl are, Name -- this is the first I've seen or heard of them, though perhaps they are related to the merrevail -- but I am certain that their presence here in Khazad-dum bodes only ill.

'I've heard reports from our companions in Jazargund to the north and east of here that there is a huge cavern at the eastern end of Durin's Way crawling with both merrevail and mervyl. I want you to head east to Jazargund and speak with Oxi. He should know more about the mervyl and may have some plan to deal with them.

'i warn you, though, that is a very dangerous area.'

Rambi has little idea what the mervyl are, but they sound like something his friend Oxi mentioned in a recent message.
