'One of our scouts discovered a strange broken token on one of the merrevail near Sad-en-Dagor: a small, cavern bat. Whether it is simply an idol of little worth or some bewitchment used upon the bats, we cannot be sure until we have studied more of them.

'Gather a small force and enter Sad-en-Dagor, north-east of here, you should find more of the wretched merrevail. Search their bodies after you have defeated them for any more of these idols.'
