Am I running GW2 in 64 or 32?Follow

I run Windows 7; 64 bit of course. it's an i5 processor and it seems that GW2 installed in my Program FIles (x84) and not my regular program files, "Program Files"

Using this:
MiTeC EXE Explorer

Here is the EXE Explorer photo showing it is running in 32 bit.
(I do not have a 32-bit Intel nor do I have a 32-bit. they are both 64-bit.

Is this true? Am I seriously running this game on 32 bit? I am getting great framerate and everything although settings are not on max (i'm guessing they could be but 64.. =P

Should I begin reinstalling this game?

Looking forward to a response ASAP so I know if I should start reinstalling or not =/

It's running in 32-bit. Almost everything on your computer is running in 32-bit. GW2 doesn't have a 64-bit client so there's nothing you can do about it.

As a typical user, the fact that you have a 64-bit OS means almost nothing. Don't worry about it.

Yeah, unless there is a 64 bit specific version of a given application, the processor core interaction is almost always 32 bit. What IS running in 64 bit mode is your operating system itself, which allows your 32 bit application to access more than 3.3Gb worth of ram as addressable space, which is important for gaming because that space also includes your Video card ram addresses. So if there were a theoretical 64 bit version of GW2, it would use the additional 32 bits of processor overhead that it can't currently access, so might in theory be somewhat faster, but the important fact remains that the operating system itself can use all of the processor, and can essentually utalize that space that the 32 bit apps can't reach for its own internal processes if nothign else. Nothing you can do about it to speed anythign up short of getting Guild wars to release a 64 bit version. The main reason they won't is there are still a significant number of 32 bit machines out there, and they don't want to cause conflicts on those machines from people downloading the wrong version.

Ahh I see, so not many applications now-a-days are utilizing 64-bit? But it actually does mean something -- I would beg to differ on the 'almost nothing' -- For example, take a look at the new 5.0.4 WoW Patch (although I quit WoW long ago, I read these patch notes) -- They now support 64 bit by DEFAULT.

My 64 bit folder is 15gb. My 32 bit is 160+ GB haha. So I guess 15gb is utilized by 64bit then? Makes sense I guess.

While some programs do utilize 64-bit, in most cases it is simply programs getting with the times and less about them actually utilizing the larger memory addresses.

There's a significant difference between 32 and 64-bit, but it's not something that is likely to significantly impact the average user any time in the near future. Video processing and gaming would probably be the two categories where it would matter, but I doubt there are many games currently on the market that show a noticeable performance increase by using 64-bit. As I mentioned earlier, there simply isn't a reason for the average person to concern themselves with it other than switching to 64-bit to future-proof themselves. Give it a few years when more games start requiring 4+ gigs of memory and we'll see a significant push to x64.
