'One of our younger Rangers is out roving the North Downs, gathering herbs and simples for the battles to come. I fear his task is a daunting one, for the bloodshed will be great.

'Would you seek Orthonn and assist him? I am not certain where he roams at the present, but I believe he is in the Kingsfell, probably somewhere near Gatson's farm.

'Do whatever he asks of you, though it is likely you will find yourself gathering herbs.'

Background

Orthonn, a young Ranger from Esteldin, was sent to gather herbs and simples for the coming battles with the invading Orcs.

Objectives

Objective 1

Speak to Orthonn at Ost Lagoros.

Orthonn is in the Kingsfell, probably near Gatson's farm.

Dagoras is certain that Orthonn will need help if he is to gather enough herbs to accomodate the Rangers in their bloody conflict with the Orcs of Angmar.

Objective 2

Collect Periwinkle plants in Nan Amlug(5)
Collect Butterbur plants in Meluinen (5)
Meadowsweet in Kingsfell (5)

Periwinkle can be found among rock outcroppings atop the hills of Nan Amlug, near Othrikar. Meadowsweet can be found in south facing tree roots in the spider-camp south of Esteldin. Butterbur can be found growing along the waters edge in the fens near the Elf-refuge of Lin Giliath in Meluinen. Orthonn is encamped in the Kingsfell in some ruins near Gatson's farm.

As Dagoras suggested, Orthonn has use for you. The young Ranger asked you to gather periwinkle, meadowsweet, and butterbur for him and suggested locations where the herbs might be found.

Objective 3

Return to Orthonn with the herbs.

Periwinkle can be found at 6.2s 42.9w, 6.2S-45.5w, 6.3s-45.8w, 6.7s-46.3w, and 6.8s-46.3w
Butterbur can be found at 13.2, 44.5
Meadowsweet-plants are around 12.9s 42.6w in the trees .. they are normally right next the tree
Orthonn is located at the D in the name Annundir on the map. He is standing on a wall.
