Locating the Advance Guard  

'Now, one of the things you have to understand about Mazog, friend, is that he is far more organized than the average Orc or goblin. This makes him far more dangerous, as you can imagine.

'It also gives him a weakness: because he tends to marshal his troops more like an army than like a rag-tag assortment of tribes and war-bands, he must commit orders to writing or depend upon messengers.

'Look for the Dhognurz, his trusted Orc-lieutenants, on this side of the Bridge of Khazad-dum, south-east of here. They are gathering as if for a meeting. They seem to me the most likely to have acopy of Mazog's orders.'

Geirfast wants to know more about why Mazog's Orcs had all those supply-carts. He thinks that the Dhognûrz, the Orc-lieutenants, might have information.

• Collect a copy of the orders

The orders will be found on the Moria Orc-leaders gathering just before the Bridge of Khazad-dum in Nud-melek, south-east of the Twenty-first Hall.

Geirfast told you of a meeting of Mazog's lieutenants. He believes one of them will have a note detailing their plans.

• Talk to Geirfast in the Twenty-first hall

Geirfast is in the Twenty-first Hall, far to the west of the Bridge of Khazad-dûm.

Geirfast will want to study the orders as soon as possible.

You must travel all the way north and east in Nud-melek, cross the wood-plank bridge over the lava, then find a number of mobs scattered among the tougher orcs, called Dhognurz. Kill them for the orders.
