Gytha Lainey
Adso's Camp
Bestowal
'A traveller brought word to me that Gytha Lainey is seeking your help, (your name). He was given the message not long ago, and he impressed upon me the urgency of the task, though she did not convey to him its nature.
'You should go to Gytha Lainey at once! It must be something serious to have troubled so great a hunter as she.
'Look for her at Adso's Camp, on the road between Bree-town and Buckland.'
Background
In times of danger, a trained hunter might be the only one capable of finding and defeating a threat before it strikes.
Objectives
Objective 1
Talk to Gytha Lainey
Speak to Gytha Lainey again to enter the instance to the Shire. You will appear in the Bindbole Wood, south of Overhill. In the instance you will fight 1 signature warg, Laugzok & 4 prowling warg's, this is also a solo instance. Once you have compeleted the instance, you will return an speak to Gytha Lainey to claim your rewards.
Notes
You will also recieve the following trait:
Enduring Precision Your Focus increases by 1 by every 5 seconds while you are in a Precision Stance. Line Bonus: Barbed Arrow induction time reduced 0.1s Line Bonus: Swift Bowinduction time reduced 0.1s
I took down the elite and one mob but aggroed more and died. I spawned at Adso's camp, ran across to Gytha, went back in and she was still alive and all I had to do was keep the remaining mobs off her. Quest complete!! :-)
Never mind, i notice the ability is now 1 focus point per 10 seconds, not 5 seconds.
As for the dps of the bows, by now you probably have an etched yew bow or better. At 31, you can have the lebrethon bows or better.
If you get these at 30, then, it seems like it's not much better than what you may have, or could get in one level.
What may matter in picking is that, there's a crossbow, which you can finally use for the first time at lvl 30 (as of this writing). The damage type are also something to consider. The bow has Westernesse damage, good against undead; and the xbow has Dwarf-make damage, good against drakes.
The lady said the wargs may have split up, but I only found one group. Many of them come and makes you tense but in fact, some had slipped through to Gythia. Once I noticed that she was under attack, I ran back to her, and she was fighting the named Warg. Helped her kill him, and it was over. Probably just dumb luck but it seemed not as bad as the lvl 15 one where the named warg was a few levels above and all the uber hunter damage you have now wasn't as good.
The description of all abilities and weapons given are still the same. Not sure how it was 'nerfed' since Book 10.
I have tried this darn thing six times and I just can't seem to get a good plan to get them all. Anyone who has done this and suceeded have any advice before I break my bow over my head?
Head north where the tree stumps are and wait for the wolves to close in. Set a trap for the named warg. Kill him first. Pick off the other wargs one at a time as they approach Gythia. You should be able to kill all the others before she kills her first warg.
You need to engage the wargs as far away from G as you can.
BTW, the class trait and the xbow will be significantly nerfed once chapter 10 goes live. Enjoy them while they last.
