Setting the Trap  

'This meat will do fine, now all we need is to set the trap! Like I was telling the folk in town, I saw the pack up away north-[WEST] of here. If you head there, you should catch sight of some of the younger wolves, and the big fellow won't be far away.

'The big wolf most likely will be hid up in a cave or hole near the pack...leastways that's always how all the good tales tell. You might try placing the meat outside of his cave to lure him out.

'Though you should try not to use all of the meat. I wouldn't mind a few strips of fried elk for lunch.'

Objective 1
Slay Bonefang

The wolf camp can be found north-east of Oatbarton.

Now that you have brought him the elk-meat, Hal Gamgee suggests that is is time to lay the trap for the big wolf by placing the meat outside the wolf's cave.

Objective 2
Set the Elk-meat outside Bonefang's cave by using the Rock. When Bonefang spawns, slay him.

Return to Hal Gamgee.

Hal Gamgee is in Oatbarton centre.

You should return to Hal Gamgee with news of your victory.

While this quest can be done solo, unless you eliminate the surrounding wolves it can be very difficult. At different stages in the battle against Bonefang, he will enlist the help of any nearby wolves (and his range is considerable). Counter this by defeating all the nearby wolves and drag Bonefang to a relatively empty area nearby.
