LOTRO Memories

First Memory: The world defined. As a fan of Tolkien your inner imagination only goes so far. But the landscapes created here went even further. I wandered through every beginning intro just to experience the details of Middle Earth. Exploration was a must, yet defeat was often.

Best Memory: Visiting Rivendell way below my accorded level to fish the Ponds with Scringe, a fellow kinsmen. We would spend hours chatting and fishing, we spent so much time fishing the skill was maxed out before level 30. I fondly remember making it to Lothlorien and completing the fishing Deeds in Scringe's honor. I miss you Scringe, may you rest in peace and fish to your hearts content on the other side.

My first memory was running through the Hobbit intro and being stunned by the graphics and excited to see a Nazgul up close.

My favourite memory is of entering Moria for the first time, just standing in the entrance hall after the epic battle to get in

My first memory in LOTRO is being ecstatic upon discovering Bag End, and then becoming even more excited when I discovered I could walk in and look around!

My favorite memory of LOTRO is when I first faced the watcher in the water outside the gate of Moria.

First Memory - Getting in Archet for the introduction quests of the hobbits. The first time I was at the city center I stood still just looking around, paying attention to all details and breathless because the city seemed so real. It was really a thrill to be in a city in middle earth for the first time.

Favorite Memory - I was doing the Old Forest quests, very focused. It was during the night in the game and everything was so dark and gloomy, the mists all around and trees that walked out of nothing. The forest was frightening, more than the beasts that were there. So after a long time there during the night there was only the house of Tom Bombadil to discover. While I was getting there, leaving the dense parts of the forest, the day was dawning and there came Tom jumping and singing to greet me. I was so happy and relieved, my heart was light. Then I entered his house and the song was just perfect, cheering, comforting. And everything was so real during the whole experience. So that is a favorite memory which I will never forget.

First Memory: My first memory is also my favorite memory... I remember creating my character in the beta, it was late at night, I was first going in and grabbing my weapon from the crate and not knowing how to equip it and in a panic! Though I loved the game, by the morning I had all my friends in the game and we have a full fellowship and kinship.

First Memory: Getting to the Shire as quickly as I could so that I could run up Bag End, take a quick look at the Party Tree and then go into Bilbo's house to explore and really get the feel of being in Middle Earth.
Favorite Memory: Right now I am in Moria and my favorite memory would have to be running thought it to see the broken bridge where Gandalf faced the Balrog.

My first memory is entering Middle Earth and seeing the story from the perspective of another random Hobbit as Frodo, Sam, Pippin and Merry take off over the rise before the dark rider comes up the road to question us.

My favourite memory is every time I come across an icon from the books for the first time such as Bilbo's house, Weathertop and Rivendell, and exploring them.

My first memory is meeting Gandalf with my Dwarf at Thorin's Gate. I had just created my first character and started the game and there he was. One of the most famous people of Middleearth. And still it get's me every time we meet again.

My favorite memories are coming to iconic places or meeting iconic characters of the book. Especially the antizipation when you know something big is going to happen like pathing your way to rivendell for the first time or see the balrog on zirakzigil.
Just two memories? Okay then...

My first memory was creating a hobbit burglar and realizing quite early in the prologue scene, witnessing Amdir get stabbed, that this game was going to do a really good job of balancing the whimsy of innocence and the almost-palpable sense of impending dread.

My favorite memory is my first time naively drinking from the Sinister Keg at my kinship's house and finding myself agog (and spraying some real-life beverage) when I realized I'd suddenly been transported to an area way out of my level, and I had no pants on (also a real-life hazard).

My first truly great memory of LOTRO is meeting Strider in the Prancing Pony at the beginning of Volume I. It was amazing to meet the King before he came into himself.

My favorite memory is witnessing the reforging of Anduril from Narsil. I was hoping the game would do this moment correctly, and they did! It was glorious. :D

Your first memory in LOTRO – My first memory was downloading and installing the game overnight and not being able to sleep well. I went to work and kept imagining what the world was going to be like. I loved Final Fantasy VII, but had never played any kind of MMO, unless you count Diablo II. I was looking for something new, but I knew I didn't want to try WoW. This was an already established game with a great IP (that I also LOVED) and my father-in-law let it slip he played. What a gift! His awesome daughter and a FIL who understands what it is to be a gamer! After creating my first character, I will never forget the nervousness I felt going through the introduction. I had no idea what I was doing and I ran around for an hour clicking things because I was afraid I would miss something and lock my character out of some future experience. It seems silly now, but I thought the world was amazingly huge and couldn't believe how beautiful and varied Archet seemed. My first steps were timid and calculated - now I blaze through impatiently with alts. Ah, memories!
Your favorite memory in LOTRO – I would take the easy way out and talk about a personal accomplishment, but i remember something else vastly more appropriate as a response. One of the quest lines I had trouble finishing involved finding something beneath the Lake in Evendim (because I hadn't really found a kin at the time and didn't have luck finding groups back before I found out about GLFF - heck, I was still posting questions in New Player on the forums!). One day I happened upon a group standing in Tinnudir and was sent a tell asking if I would help in that final instance of the chain. I was ecstatic! It was an exciting trip down to meet what felt like someone's pet turtle that got flushed down a drain and into some toxic ooze (or at least that's what went through my mind). After two attempts, we recovered what was lost (spoiler-free post, I hope), I was able finish the quest chain and the scenes at the forge in Imladris actually elicited an audible "wow" from me for the first time. I had been through many areas and moments where the word crossed my mind, but at that moment, I could not contain myself with silence in a room empty but for a guy with a gaped mouth and dark but for the glow of a monitor. Moments have come since that also get me talking, but that is still my favorite.

My best memory was doing the inn league initiation. That was trippy!

My first memory was being overwhelmed and taken aback by the introductory quests in Bree-land that would set the stage for the continuous and immersive storyline following the fellowship through Middle-Earth.

My favorite memory is fighting through the skirmish Ford at the Bruinen, with hordes of enemies encroaching the shore towards Rivendell and the breathtaking instrumental and choral music setting the tone of the ominous and impending invasion I was asked to prevent.

My first memory in LOTRO: Is running around in Ered Luin on my main. I remember I had no clue what was going on. First MMORPG ever. This guy who was a bazillion levels above me picked me up so to speak and showed me the ropes. I will always remember that.

My Favorite memory in LOTRO: The first time I saw Lorien from the hill of Amroth. I still see this in my dreams.
