I'm probably going to pass on this one. It doesn't look that good and this trailer did nothing to change my mind on that. I might watch on TV in a few years but I doubt I'll see it in the theater unless someone else buys my ticket.

It's also a bit weird hearing Elastigirl talk trash about Superman.

It was an okay trailer. The "MUH PARENTS ARE DEEEAAAD" scene is a bit weak. It's just that it's a movie focusing on three characters I'm not particularly fond of, two actors who I find can't really act, and one actor that can but has an abysmal track record of picking scripts.

Oh, and why are the Kents such cnuts in these movies?

I drive by the Kent farmstead (used in the Superman films and apparently this one) twice a day, five times a week. I'll drop in and ask them for you.

I'm heading down toward Superman-Ville next week.

It's a pretty dull area. Kind of small. Doesn't fit expectations.

It's slightly better than Christmas, Michigan. Which I drove through 8 times a year driving from College to Home. And driving by a giant Santa.

I dislike gimmicky things like that. I would hate to live in any of these towns.

To be fair to Metropolis, it sounds as though they named it in the 1800's and just took advantage of the Superman angle after that became popular. I assume that Christmas, Michigan doesn't pre-date the holiday.

I love that the 1850 map on the Wiki page for Metropolis also shows Peru, IL as a landmark. We drove through there once and Flea had to get out so she could get her picture taken in front of the "Welcome to Peru" sign. I don't think they had any Peru-esque town features though.

If you think Metropolis is interesting you should go to Lincoln IL. They have a life size sculpture of a piece of watermelon.

All of my friends are hyped to see it; I'm glad to see the only one who thinks it will be disappointing. The trailer seemed very disjointed so it hasn't exactly persuaded me to want to pay money to watch it. It seems that they're trying to shoehorn too much into it and it'll end up like another Spider-Man 3.
