I am a little surprised. I was under general impression that Erdogan was untouchable after he got EU by the balls over the refugee thing and shot Russian plane down. And all that excitement happens while he was on vacation? What kind of coup is that?

I'll be honest. I half expected your link to be something like this.
Is it actually a secular coup? I was hearing this afternoon that it was simply a switch from one group of Islamists to another, potentially more radical one.

Some dude in Turkey passing along what they had heard on Twitter before the country locked down social media. Hence why, if you read the whole thing, I'm treating it as potentially incomplete or incorrect information and hoping someone would fill me in further.
