All we have to do is give everyone life preservers with "The Liberal Agenda" printed on them and the problem will eventually solve itself.

To be fair, building a city below sea level next to a large body of water was a bad idea from the very beginning.

But on point, science shows its happening so the scientists are bias and a dermatologist disagreed once so it must be fake.

To be fair, the specific article linked does actually have nothing at all to do with the presence or absence of global warming. In this case, the ground actually is sinking, and for reasons having nothing to do with global temperatures.

Because rising sea levels in no way ever changes the water table at all, like, ever.

He's going to be wrong about this in as many threads as possible and there's nothing you can do about it.

The earth really is rising due to global warming, of course. Well, the parts of it that matter are.

Post-glacial rebound, yo.

That's great, but has no bearing on the situation here, because the article quite clearly states the reason for the ground sinking, and "rising sea levels" isn't it.

I find it interesting that you think the linked article makes no mention of the water table.

I find it more interesting how carefully you worded that. Yes, it "mentioned" the water table:

Quote:
The extraction of groundwater and dewatering of the region, in which surface water is removed in order to prevent standing water or saturated earth, is causing the city to sink. This has been exasperated by the building of levees, which prevent the natural build-up of sediment that counteract the sinking.

The problem isn't too much water, but too little. But you knew that, right? You carefully avoided what was mentioned, and just pointed out that it was mentioned, I can only guess out of the hope that no one would actually read the article and realize that it says the exact opposite of what you are implying.

Rising sea levels, or river levels, or any sort of water levels, whether caused by global warming or not, is not remotely related in any way to the problem mentioned in the article in question. I'm just not sure why you felt the need for the wordplay. I mean, I do get wanting to mislead others so that they might side with you on something. But why take that "side" in the first place, when your own word manipulation so clearly indicates that you know it's false? I guess I just don't get the point of that at all.

Yes gbaji. They are pumping water out of the ground because there is so little water saturating the ground.

You sure got me there.

Instead of making a sarcastic reverse comment, how about making your own claim and defending it?

Are you claiming that:

1. There is excess ground water that must be removed.

2. This excess ground water is there because the ocean water level is rising.

3. The ocean water level is rising because of global warming.

Yes? No? Anything?

Well, it would help if you'd make a specific claim instead of kinda implying things sorta sideways, and then using vague language to support said vague implication.
