The whole college rapey thing is a myth as well. There is no reality to the whole 20% of women are raped at college on a regular annual basis. The numbers are wildly inflated for purposes of pushing the political agenda of shrinking male dominance across the societal spectrum. This is seen in the University of Virginia rape debacle, wherein a woman made an accusation to a large cultural interest magazine "journalist" (who couldn't be bothered to do, you know, journalism) that she had been gang raped by frat boys. Another example of this is "Mattress Girl."
We see this all the time by the Left-- make a loud accusation, have the media jump all over it in dismay, then push their agenda to "fix" the problem.
All of this is not to say that rape doesn't happen on campus, but that there is not some massive rape crisis which is plaguing our higher educational institutions. Just like the idea that women universally get paid less than men is false on the face of it, many of these social issues are ginned up to push the political agenda d'jour.
