It has been often said there will be trouble in Buckland, what, with living so close to the borders of the Old Forest. How true that idle talk was! For many years ago the Bucklanders had a great struggle with the old trees in the forest. It is unclear who instigated the conflict, but the Bucklanders quickly took to fire and drove the enroaching creatures back into their home. Yet they went further. To send a message to the old trees, they burned many on top of a large hill. This came to be known as Bald Hill. For it is the only part of the forest without a roof.

As far as gameplay purposes are concerned, only two notable items are at Bald Hill: a hobbit which continues the quest to search for Maggot's son, and maple can be extracted from a nearby tree for the prosperous hobbit in Buckland. Yet it is also quite a sight to see.
